ON TOP OF MADRID
A while ago I was in Madrid for the Fashion Days, a smaller edition of the Fashion Weeks we know from ‘ The Big Four (New York, London, Milan, Paris), but definitely good for discovering upcoming designers. It was also a very nice excuse to explore Madrid, a city which I never visited before, but was totally on my travel list.
In Madrid I stayed at the lovely hotel of Gran Meliá Palacio de los Duques. These pictures were taken at the rooftop of the hotel. They have an amazing rooftop terrace with a pool, lounge seats, music and a breathtaking view.If you go to Madrid, you should definitely consider this hotel or just a drink at their terrace. It’s an amazing hotel, it will not disappoint you!
When I visit Spain, I normally stay at one of the Gran Melia hotels, because I know these hotels always feel like home. The design is gorgeous, the service excellent and they are always located at the best spots in town.
You can simply not visit Madrid without trying the freshly baked churros with chocolate, it’s the Spanish specialty. So the first thing on my Madrid bucket list was going to ‘Chocolateria San Ginés: everyone, literally everyone I spoke about Madrid was talking about San Ginés! It is the city’s most renowned chocolate cafe (open 24/7 to satiate your late night chocolate cravings). San Gines in an international hub, with photos of happy celebrities enjoying their churros and chocolate milk or coffee all over the walls (really many world famous celebrities from Celine Dion to Naomi Cambell to the best world class athletes). And yess!! It’s worth the wait in a sadly long queue for at least twenty minutes!
